Following an initiative called The WORKSHOP recently held at the a School in Abuja - Whiteplains British School, four teenage boys between the ages of 12 and 13 from the school invented and developed technological materials and applications that will aid government and the general public in getting things done with less labour and more efficiency.
Emmanuel Ode, Daniel Ishaku, Joshua Nwufoh, Elijah Abang and Elvis Anunwa, added feather to the already feathered cap of Whiteplain British School when they displayed their discoveries of Surveillance Drone, Online Store, Online Crossword Puzzle and a social networking site at the end the workshop study. They developed various solutions with use of Open Source Which Enable people to develop complex web and robotics applications without the use of difficult programming codes.
These inventions like the Surveillance Drone is remote controlled with camera which resists friction.
It can be useful for the military or security agencies. The Online Store produced by the head group of diamond unit Daniel Ishaku and Elijah Abang sells virtual products. E-commerce store -www.getstores.biz where one can get ebooks is a new time global market competitor to Konga, Jumai etc. All the 20 books currently available in the online store have resale rights. They also designed an Android application.
The third invention is an Online Crossword Puzzle designed to helps kids develop their spelling and vocabulary skills. The kids hope to partner with Google and Apple to have it as a mobile application and available on Play Store. Another laudable online creativity is setting up of a social networking site referred to as www.surfchat.ml which is currently available for Android applications and in Goggle play store.
The creator of the WORKSHOP initiative, Mr Onos Afo Temienor [aka OAT] said he intends to empower kids all over West Africa, with solutions for the future and innovations that would compete in the global market place.
